Naked conversations...

I don’t usually take baths, I am mostly on the move so I prefer showers. Lately however, I’ve been enjoying baths, there’s just something so relaxing about being immersed in warm water and feeling the gritty bath salts on the floor of the tub purify your skin. 

At first, I was a bit nervous that my beautiful journal would end up taking a bath so, I took some time adjusting in order to find a safe, sweet and comfortable spot. A posture that would enable me to enjoy the relaxing bath and journal simultaneously. 

 

As the music played in the background, I poured out my heart to God with ink on paper. Quick question, am I the only one that almost always has very interesting conversations with God in the bathroom? I don’t know if it has anything to do with being stark naked, but  I felt more open, trusting and vulnerable in that moment.

 It was one of the most beautiful journaling sessions I had in a very long time. God reminded me that often times we are stuck in a boring and monotonous relationship with him. I know we love him, we depend on him, we appreciate him, we reverence him, we need him, we prioritize him, we worship him, but do we actually enjoy him?

 

Over the weekend, my friend facetimed me while I took a bath. I was probably a bit too comfortable on that video call ha-ha, since she is my close friend, I was not reticent. We spoke about everything without interruptions, timidity or awkwardness.  Are you comfortable being naked, not in a literal sense but are comfortable being open, plain and vulnerable in his presence? 

Do you truly enjoy him? I know God is a God, but God desires a real relationship with you, he can sense if you’re mousy, indifferent or withdrawn. Everyone knows the kind of energy people they don’t really vibe with bring to a room, God too can sense your vibe and when your spirit isn’t in alignment with his.

 

I thoroughly enjoyed speaking with my friend and doing what I had grown to love. I also enjoyed sharing my favorite moment with her. Do you share your favorite things to do with God?

SOME IDEAS

• ·     Working out while listening to a Christian podcast or sermon.
• ·      Journaling in the bathtub.
• ·      Coffee and cake dates during devotion or bible study.
• ·      Cleaning while jamming up to worship music.
• ·      Cooking and initiating conversations with God.

 

P.S: I think we need waterproof books and pens so I can journal in the bath.
